Rudova talk at Grinnell College

Larissa Rudova traveled to Grinnell College last week to deliver a talk entitled "Post-Soviet Cinderellas: Beauty, Femininity, and Consumer Culture in Russian Adolescent Literature for Girls."

Rudova’s talk addressed the history of the relationship between beauty and gender construction in Soviet children’s literature and culture and analyzed how new economic and cultural realities affect it in the post-Soviet era.

Pictured here are the members of the Grinnell College Russian Department (Todd Armstrong, Anatoly Vishevsky, me [Kelly Herold], Raquel Greene) and Larissa Rudova.

It was great to see you, Larissa!
