Christine Gölz of the Leipzig Centre for the History and Culture of East Central Europe (GWZO) sent in the following announcement to the WGRCLC:
Veselye Kartinki--the First Russian Comics
The Tretyakov Gallery celebrated the 55th anniversary of the children's magazine Veselye kartinki with an exhibition Veselye kartinki--pervyi rossijski komiks (15 December — 20 February 2011).
Dr. Gölz continues, "It may seem a little bit silly to post the announcement of an exhibition, which I didn't see and which nobody can visit, because it is over, but I found a website with some very interesting images from the exhibit. I' m fascinated!"
"Veselye kartinki" is a gem of the dual-audience classics as it was loved by both children and adults.
